Turmoil, it’s all Turmoil
…… Until you get a hang of the game, then it is good ol fashioned Wildcatting fun. Wildcatting is not used enough in this world, in fact it is up there with the words piss ant, eats, swale and assunder. In fact, I could keep going with these words and may even do a post on it. I don’t want to “affright” anybody out there. *Guffaw* But yes, Turmoil, that’s where it is at!
Yes, yes, but what is Turmoil the game?
To put it simply, Oil finding, Oil digging, Oil pumping and Oil selling. But in an environment where the lands are random and you can buy fresh horse to help sell your oil. It is a bit reminiscent of an old TRS 80 game called Wildcatting, but more modern. Not so much modern as in terms of the resolution being better than 240 x 196 or whatever the res was, but it really has been thought through and the game elements have been implemented perfectly.
Here is a youtube vid of Rusty playing Turmoil
Turmoil is pretty dang good.
As you can see, I love fresh horses, as a great king always demanded. And also, how the heck did we get onto Blackadder, Brian Blessed, and the other one, Edwina. Oh yeah, that’s right. Chiswick, Fresh horses!
But more to the point, Turmoil is a very good game where you say to yourself, just one more turn, then as quick as you know it, it is time to get ready for work. And if you miss breakfast, you may just get there one time! Wishing this game could be built on and expanded to make it longer though, but apart from that, wanting more is a good thing as in this case.
