So yesterday, I bought an early access Steam game called Gloria Victis.
It’s been a while since I last played a MMORPG as I tend to get quite addicted to them. I still remember surviving on one hours sleep when I bought the first Guild Wars game!
This game didn’t have the same hold over me. The current Steam reviews pretty much sum it up at this point … mixed.
While I feel it has a lot of potential, it still lacks a bit. The quests and crafting are great, but the NPC’s could use a little work. Most of them just stand around waiting to get stabbed, while others will just ascend on you in massive numbers till you are dead 🙁
With plenty of support, I can see this game being fantastic. But patience would be required to ensure it’s survival. I bought the game on the back of a G2A promotion. When I joined there seemed to be a few online … nek minnit, the place was a god damned ghost town.
If you like the concept of a medieval open world game, then I encourage you to support the developer by purchasing the game.
It has an arena for combat training … Unfortunately combat requires two people and I was the only one in there for 10 minutes. Hoping this will get better with more players and game upgrades.
However, it is still a long way off from resembling anything like the video on the Steam page. Still I had an enjoyable two hours learning the basics of the game and can see just how good it could become with the right support.
