Following up from our previous post-apocalyptic game, Fallout 4, we tackle a great indie pixel game called Sheltered.
The concept? You and few randoms are trapped in a underground bunker. Although safe from the radiation above, you have to make do with what you have to survive in this new world.
It kind of reminds me of the movie 10 Cloverfield Lane … minus John Goodman.
The game has great pixel art and complimentary soft background music which makes it really playable. It kind of reminds me of a 2D version of the Sims but with a darker edge to it.
The characters get a bit upset and whiny when they need to go to the toilet. But instead of cleaning out the bucket and using it, they just walk around bitching and moaning!
This game also has a huge crafting element to it, allowing you to build and create new shelter rooms. Some items you will need to trade for to be able to build certain things which adds a new dimension to the game and adds more hours of gameplay.
Both Russ & I gave this one the thumbs up. It’s a top notch dark simulation, worthy to be in any gamers library. Grab Sheltered cheap and add it to your Steam Library.
