A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of playing Poker Night 2.
Last time I played any form of poker on PC, was a loooooong time ago. In fact I think it would have been something like cheesy like Strip Poker 3. Where countless hours were spent trying to de-pants Kami … the saucy little minx … Anywho, back to Poker Night 2.
Today’s video poker games have much improved graphics. This game takes it to a new level by adding a few familiar faces making the game feel like you are catching up with a few high school friends.
The friends at your table include (from left to right):
- Brock Samson from the Venture Bros.
- Claptrap from Borderlands 2
- Ash from Evil Dead: Army of Darkness
- And Sam from the Sam & Max games.
There is a lot of content from the characters which can sometimes make you forget that it’s your hand. We played this game for quite a while and didn’t notice any of the characters repeat themselves.
If you like these kind of games or you are just looking for something different to take a break then this game is worthy of being in your collection. Plenty of hours to keep you entertained. While the concept is not new, it does set a real chill atmosphere making it perfect for a few quite drinks at home or to kill a few hours while nursing a hangover.
The game is currently around $4.99 US on Steam, but if you are a struggling gamer like Russ & I, you may want to grab a Poker Night 2 Steam key at a fraction of the price from our good friends over at Kinguin.
