Today Future Released has a crack at Orgon Trail – Directors Cut. Jez is in the controller chair for this one as Russ sits back with his foreman hardhat on.
The best way to describe this one is that it is like a post apocalyptic simulation. The game has awesome pixel art giving it that retro feel along with a beautiful soundtrack. Check out our Youtube vid to see what I mean…
The game is based on an old game called Oregon Trail (Released in 1971), with a more futuristic feel to it.
The idea of the game is to survive in a dangerous new world with the help of four friends. Clearly this was not the angle I took as I turned on poor Freddy minutes into playing the game. Poor simple Freddie. He just didn’t have have what it takes and we had to get rid of him to give our gang a harder edge. The team is only as strong as the weakest link … So we did the right thing and put a bullet in Freddie’s head to ensure he didn’t drag us down with him.
The game has a lot of different components to give you plenty of game play options. Be sure to stock up on supplies and keep your team healthy as this game will throw everything it has at you to ensure you fail. In the game I played, I was attacked by Bikies, Zombies and even a herd of deer.
Wait … Is a group of deer a herd? I quickly Google this to find out I am correct. However a group of roe deer are called a bevy of roe deer. Now, that’s just stupid!
Anywho, I’ve gone off-topic again. Overall there is a lot to like about this game. You can play either Campaign mode or Endless and you are in control of your own destiny. So if you are a fan of the old Oregon Trail, the Orgon Trail is worth checking out.
